Bray Harbour 18/1/2011

#1 Post by chenz116 »

People:me & Jackthelad

Duration:
10.30pm-12.30am

Tide:
High

Weather:
Cold and dry

Bait:
Lug, Frozen Sand eel, Frozen Squid

Rigs:2 hook flappers 2/0 hooks

Results: Me (Whiting), Jackthelad ( 5 Bearded rockling)

Report:Decided to give bray harbour a go after seeing some reports. The session was a bit last min so was only for a couple of hours. We both Fished two rods, one long one straight down. The rods out far were getting the baits stripped in a couple of mins (DAM CRABS  ) Close in we managed to get one fish each.

a bit dissapointing but like i said it was a bit rushed so will try defo try bray harbour again

I'd give the smaller hooks a go at that venue. Maybe size 1s or even 2.

I'd use a size 4 in Bray. Normally loads of whiting and rockling about so you would get more hook up's. In a few weeks there will be decent flounder at the mouth of the river. The crabs can strip baits in minutes there though.
