Depth-o-Meter

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Depth-o-Meter

#1 Post by yngkmd »

bought one of these on a whim out of belfast angling centre.

tried it out the last time i was out and it does work. simple quick an easy. nothing something i would use all the time on marks i already fish and already know the water depth but it can do no harm to double check. i think ill find it most useful on rock marks ive never fished before so i know what depth to set my float but as it cost £15 i hate the idea of it getting snagged on the bottom. still, it does save me about 2 minutes of time plumbing the depth at the edge but it does make it easier to find water depth further out which i find harder to do with a float.

all in all i would say it will be handy to have but far from essential

Used one of those years ago and as you say very handy, particularly good off piers and other vertical structures. Simple to use as well.
