nanny rieley co wickla 11-1-11

People:me

Duration:4.30 till 7.30

Tide:dropping

Weather:nice then windy and rain for last half hour

Bait:lug ahd squid

Rigs:two hook clipped down and one up one down

Results:2 tiny codling and one keeper,too many pin whiting one per cast :evil: ,and 5 rockling




Report:was off work so organized to go to greystones till canning told me what he got last night :lol: so drove a bit futher,all fish from dusk onwards,was a good swell bangin off the sand bank water nice and coloured was expecting a few more codling but beggers cant be choosers :lol: was glad to get one decent fish and only get half wet :wink:

Well done Roger, that one was worth the extra drive :wink: ,whiting must be the smelliest fish :roll:

Well done roger. Nice codling. Greystones was crap last night. A rockling and small coalie for 7 hours fishing.

It's just past Brittas bay about 25/30 mins (depending on how you drive :D )past greystones on the N11.

Nice one rodge, the codling don't seem to be getting much better than than up the east coast so well done!

Cod, Whiting, flounder, coalfish, bass, pollack, sea trout, poor cod, pouting, dogfish, sea scorpion, 3 bearded rockling, blonde ray, painted ray, turbot.

February is usually quiet enough on the east coast anyway, March can see other species moving back like Bass and flats after they have spawned and then April can see the summer species start to trickle back. It's weather dependent though last year the weather stayed cold for longer than usual and the fishing was about a month behind. lets hope it's not like this again this year :(

thanks lads ,just gave an aquaintance of mine the cod for her supper ,she nearly took my hand aswell :lol: its gut was packed with whiting,prawns and black lug (not mine it was half digested) :wink:
