Hi All,
I have a 9ft whisker spin 10 to 60 grams, with a slow action which I find good for small lures. I recently bought a heavier spinning rod 40 to 80 grams which had a faster action, anyway the top section shattered yesterday while pike fishing. I'm looking for a rod which I can use for pike fishing and shore spinning for Pollock, any suggestions? Preferably something that is capable for casting 1 or 2 oz a good distance.
What type rod to use for shore spinning for Pollock?

Check out this link. Don't be put off by the shakespear name, as these rods are made by Sanger in germany. I couldn't get a match for my SKP rod so I bought a pair of these with the sanger label on them. The tips are responsive, and the kevlar butt sections have plenty of beef. Postage to UK is only £4.94, orders over £100 are free.
Hoping this helps.

Adrian,
One of the origional SKP's yes. The updated newer version is nowhere near as good.
The website is askari. http://www.askari-fishing.co.uk
I've bought quite a lot of gear of them and they are solid. Delivery is a tad slow but compared to UK prices its worth it.

They have a distinctive kevlar tape crisscrossed on blank. They are also have a totally matt finish. Blank and varnish. They are as hard to get as hens teeth and are highly desirable amongst the serious carp anglers.
