A SNOWIE RAY 18 dec.....

#1 Post by lucky »

people.. myself and torandeo8

baits... mack,razor,sqiud and sandell

rigs... pannell pulleys

weather... fecking cold..

tide,, full at 3pm......

It has been awhile since i posted a report ,i sure the same ones will knock it but ha f---k them... this is for the lads that enjoy real fishing reports.... myself and torandeo8 planded to go to cork today for a cod session but due to weather could not go... sorry john who had some pellers ready for us.... anyway we decided to go local instead...so mike picked me up about 1.30 and away we went... got to the mark about 2.15 and set up... it was very cold with the odd snow shower... i was looking to break in my new rod and mike was the same with his new reel... have to say mike was all kitted out in all his new gear, hot boots, gloves, and new suite ...any way i put out a razor bait and mike put out a mack bait.. so we sat back and waited... after a while i was getting a trace baited up when mike said alan your rod but by the time i turned around nothing.. thought a here mike stop messing just then over the rod tip went fish on,, just then mike rod did the same,, 2 ray landed new rod broken in new reel broken in.. nice one we only fish for another hour an half as the snow fell heavy from the sky,, we had landed 6 ray by the time we decided to pack up before we had to dig the car out.. so off to the pub for a pint then... nice one mike nice session.. hope you add a piece..... some photos included......

the dates under each photo are all of to day.. i could not save them all into one folder so i had to name them like that so i could find them easy.........

Well done Alan and Mike, a fantastic result with the ray for this time of year. Alan, I have to confess that I kinda didn't beleive you when you told me that you can catch ray all year around down there, I beleive you now (sure what do I know ) I'm glad you finally got to use your new rod, about time too, you've had it long enough! Thought it would be well broken in by now. Shame about the trip to Cork, but I deffo think you's were wise not to go with the weather the way it is, I don't know what it's like down your way at the minute but up here in the North we are totally covered with snow, not great fishing weather, really freezing and hard to get about.
It's good to see you reporting again, as always a great read and good pics.
