Fishing program 'On the Fly' - Setanta Sports

#1 Post by John D »

Hi everyone.

Just a 'heads up' for anyone who enjoys fishing tv. Setanta Sports are 2 weeks into their fly fishing/cook your catch program. It runs for 6 weeks. If you're not a freshwater fan don't worry. I believe bass & sea trout feature too. John Quinlan who runs a beautiful fishing lodge (thatch cottage Ireland) with excellent sea, salmon & sea trout fishing will feature during the episode on 28th December 2010. It airs at 22:00. Apparently John has to help a virgin (a virgin to bass on the fly  ) bass fly fishing chef to catch a sea bass on the fly!!

It should make good viewing.

Tight lines, Happy Christmas & a prosperous fishful new year to everyone!

Hi John,

Great to see some fishing programming on our screens & thanks for the heads up!! I believe RTE had a similar catch and cook style program recently - it was good but was more of a cookery program. Im going to set my reminder for this series though. Ive been watching alot of tight lines on sky sports podcasts - good - but theres alot of coarse fishing content!
