West Kerry Bass

#1 Post by Theonethatgotaway »

Headed off to a beach beyond dingle this afternoon for a bit of bass fishing. Got a couple of nice 3lbers on the incoming tide, one on frozen peeler, one on razor. Thing is, when I gutted them, both were full of roe, which I didn't expect in the month of December. Just wondering, has anybody else experienced this, and if so, does the bass ban come into force the wrong time of year, ie May/June ?

excellent getting a few bass now...nice one
yip. seems like this time of year they're full of eggs...not happy with myself about a week ago..same thing... i think its good practice not to take for the plate this time of year....i'd be interested to hear what other anglers think?...especially when its a big female ...(that seem to be more common at this time of the year)...
is this the case untill june???
ps seems like the netters are getting brazen in the winter...two reported in the last month
