texas rig?

are the hook ups, while using texas rigged plastics as good as
when just using ordinary jig heads and is there any point in
using texas rigged plastics over clean ground.Just getting into
lure fishing so any help would be great.cheers

Not quite, but then texas rigging lets you fish otherwise impossible places, and the increase in hits more than balances it out.

Just on the hook ups, the take is most unusual for lure fishing; its almost like bait fishing as the fish mouths the lure. Takes a bit of getting used to and the takes themselves can sometimes be oh so gentle.
