Help with beachcaster please...

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Help with beachcaster please...

#1 Post by krisreid »

Hi all,

I bought a new Diawa multiplier and feel it's wasted on my DAM beachcaster(Cheap) - Can anyone advise on a new beachcaster? I have been looking at a Leeda Assassin 15ft Long Surf Rod. Any help is appreciated......

Cheers

the brotherinlaw just got one of them a fortnight ago, a cracker of a rod well worth the money.
but what ever rod you go for make sure it is the right rod for your needs, beach/rocks/pier.
i use the 13' mx and it suits every type of fishing i do...

Although the bass is a great rod I think the mx would be more along the lines of what your after.

The model is Daiwa SL30 SH - Not working very well on the Dam rod, however i'm not very good at using the reel yet but would love a new rod to go with it! Thanks again.....

the sl20 would not be a very good match with the salt bass rod you were looking at,
but it is with the salt mx, i sometimes use my sl20 on my mx when fishing mixed ground and its a perfect como.

whatever you do, dont pay silly prices like on that ebay link. that one works out at €64 with another €35 for P&P. they can be gotten for €70 locally and much easier to get things sorted if anything goes wrong when you buy from a local shop.
even with out the postage id rather pay the extra €6 locally for peace of mind.

I'M ALWAYS SINGING IT'S PRAISES, BUT FOR ALL ROUND FISHING AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE THE PENN POWERSTIX 13' IS VERY HARD TO BEAT. BOTH MYSELF AND MY FISHING BUDDY USE THEM AND CAN'T FAULT THEM FOR THE MONEY. WILL MATCH YOUR REEL AND EASY TO TRANSPORT BEING 3 PIECE. ALSO COME IN A PROTECTIVE CORDURA TUBE IF YOU ARE TRAVELLING TO FISH. SHAKESPEARE SALT IS ON A PAR, IN AND AROUND THE SAME PRICE RANGE BUT NO TUBE. HAVE A LOOK ON THIS FORUM, YOU WILL NOT SEE MUCH CRITICISM FOR THE PENN FROM THOSE WHO USE THEM.
