Ballycotton Pier 20/11/2010

#1 Post by tuborg »

People:Shoreman and myself

Duration:3 to 7

Tide: Hiigh at 4.30

Weather:Dry and cold

Bait:Lug,squid and razor

Rigs:Various

Results:Shoreman 2 dogfish
Myself 1 dogfish,4 coalies 2 rocklings and 1 pollock

Went along to Ballcotton pier today with shoreman, there was two other people
fishing there before us set up two rods each, very quiet for the first hour bar been
plagued by crabs after that things picked up somewhat had a rockling a dogfish and a small
coalie in quick succession.Shoreman then had a good size dogfish and did well to get him
up over the wall, and he followed that up with a smaller dogfish a few mins later...
After a quick cuppa i had a double coalie one 35cm and one 25cm which was followed by dogfish, then things went very quite just as we where reeling in to pack up i had a wee rockling and wee coalie on one rod and the smallest pollock i ever caught on the other...
All fish were returned alive bar one poor coalie that unfortunately didnt make it.....
Sorry forgot the camera but we had 4 good hours out and the only downside of the evening
was watching the other two people fishing kill everything they caught,a lot of which were only
sprats
