Glenariffe/Waterfoot beach Thur 18 Nov 10.

Fished there from 8pm til midnight on this beach, there was a club competition going on, lots of small stuff getting caught. I used oldish lug (dug on Monday) and squid. It was steady throughout, still biting when I left it. High tide was at 9pm.

Results-

11 whiting all small.
7 coley to half a pound only
5 flounder to 25 cm
2 codling to 33 cm
2 5 bearded rockling, my first ever of this species, small.

Nothing major but enjoyable fishing and a new species recorded.

Also found a tiny partially digested flat fish which may be a sole? inside a small squid, see pic, the fish isnt much smaller than the squids body.

The other boys packed up and left before me so I dont know if they got anything special eg the mythical Waterfoot beach bass or turbot.

Yeah it was steady sport and a few good thumps to keep me hoping for somethin big or unexpected. Was pleased with the rockling, codling and the 2 better flounder, they are all good to catch and see. There were hits every cast and you cant ask for more than that. Cheers.
