wel i have used clear shockleader since i started fishing,is there ne advantages in using coloured shockleader r is it just for look????

i honestly think it doesnt matter fagan.its not the line there after its the bait but u will ave sum people tell u differ.i just buy a roll of 50lb mono and use that as me shockleader.same thing as than buy specially called shockleader on a coil

I personally like the coloured shockleader for visibilty when night fishing, particularly on occasions when I come into unwanted contact with weed and the likes, I find it easier to unravel as it stands out a lot more and I can see what's what.

Same as the lads,however during the summer months with clear water i tend to use the clear stuff just in the chance id spook a fish,silly i know but thats me

Agree with the two posts above. Did I read somewhere that adding colour to line makes it less robust?

Always use tapered shocks myself which are usually clear only.

With the advances in technology I wouldn't think that coloured line would be less robust than any other.

Ultima do tapered shockleader in various different colours, my local tackle shop only stock orange and yellow strangely enough, I had to source the clear ones online.

with the thickness of shockleader i dont think colour is going to affect performance, in thinner lines it will, sometimes making them better for fishing than the same line in clear.

on the casting field coloured shockleader makes finding your crackoffs much handier for those who suffer from that affliction
