Tom started fishing the pier at 7.30am, i landed down to join him at 10 am, tom had just released a doggie and was re baiting. so i got my rod set up, baited and in the water. just five minutes later and my rod was rattling away doggie on!!! and he was a good size one too. we kept getting good solid knocks on our rods but no hook ups, this went on for most of the session. i then landed a small flounder and tom followed up with a bigger flounder of 32cm. then the rods started that crack again two quick knocks and no hook ups again, so i downsized my hooks to size 1s, again two hard knocks with no results and hooks cleaned, same thing was happening to tom. dont know what was out there but it was doing our f....head in big time. by now the wind was getting up fairly strong and it would have cut you in half it was that cold, so we packed up the gear and headed for home just after 4pm. with all the work on my new gaff this was my first trip out in a while and i really enjoyed it, and cant wait for the next one. as usual the kettle was whistling away on the stove for our fix off coffee and the banter was great

Good report Don, well done on getting a few fish. Im glad to hear you made an escape and got out for a session to chill away from the work in your new house. I have to say, you's do look freezing in the pictures. The scenery is amazing though, that looks like a beautiful spot to fish I love the picture of Tom letting rip with the rod, top stuff.
