Re: k2 red metal twin tip
I had this rod and loved it but i snapped it and couldn't get a replacement section as they didn't make them anymore. I talked to an agent of shakespeare and they merged with penn he explained to me Penn improved the design of the k2 they added better carbon and called it the Penn Affinity Twin Tip so its the same as the k2 red metal but a lot stronger.

i have the original k2 rod and its the best rod i have.the newer ones are a bit heavier though so i would agree with buying the penn.

Re: k2 red metal twin tip
The red metals are somewhat notorious for snapping, a guy I know had 2 of em snap, he sold the third...
Not the best rods out there, try to get your hands on a K2 team extreme titanium.. The older K2 fanatic (4metre) are good rods as well.
