Christmas open boat Competition

#1 Post by Dave Jolly »

Hi guys, If you are like me you start to get a little stir crazy around the house during Christmas, well now we have the answer....

We are running an open boat competition to raise much needed funds for the irish boat team travelling to the world championships in Italy next year.
It will be held out of Cobh on Tuesday the 28th of December from 10am to 3.30pm.
There will be a large mix of valuable prizes, and many different catagories including overall, team, species, biggest nominated fish etc.
Entry fee per charter boat angler is 65eu
All anglers welcome, private boats must have a minimum of 3 anglers
Anyone who fished this competition last year will tell you what a craic they had.

Minimum size 20cm.
No fish restrictions.

There you have it, a great chance to get out of the house over christmas, have a bit of craic, and maybe get a prize.

P.M me here if interested, or ring / text me on 086-2536389
Tight lines

Dave

I have cleaned this thread to remove comments that have no bearing on the event.

General comments/questions about the event from those competing/intending to compete are welcome. Please PM the organisers. If the query is deemed of importance then the orgainsers will update this thread.

Best of luck to those who will compete.

I might not compete myself but I think I'll certainly get to the Bella Vista for the afters.

Hi Joey, Roads are perfect down here, I did 1200km this week not a problem up as far as portlaoise, able to do 120kph on motorway no prob.
Forecast for tues is 10-12 mph southerly, 10 degrees c, with mist during the day possible rain in the evening, sun out here at the moment, supposed to thaw from tomorrow evening.
We have about 70 names but a few people from dublin have cancelled because of the weather which is dissapointing to make that call so soon, I would hope people will decide on the 26th if they will travel down.

Well Mohawk if you were any closer we would have had to put out fenders...lol.

To everyone that took part I would like to offer you a heartfelt thank, there were some nice fish caught, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
There were 40 prizes awarded at the end of the event, and a great thanks must also go to each of our sponsors.

As soon as I get the full list of prizes and sponsors I will put it up here.
Thanks again to all that took part.

Dave
