Advice on Rock fishing

#1 Post by Ro Murray »

Hi Everybody,

Was doing a little Bass fishing in Bonmahon, Co. Waterford last weekend.
Landed 1 nice bass from the beach.
No luck around the rocks. Was told should be using "Poppers".
Do these work in areas of heavy kelp?
Info is required for the "Next time"

cheers

Welcome to SAI, Ro.

Have a read through the "Lure Fishing" forum, plenty of info in there about poppers.

For very weedy patches I like soft plastics rigged "weedless", lots of info on this in previous posts.

When using a popper or top-water plug, I take off the belly treble to reduce hang-ups in the weed. No difference to hook-ups with the fish - when they're around.... 8)
