People:Myself and mate Brian.
Duration:Various over three days when able to escape partners.
Tide:Various.
Weather:Fine to dull overcast. Medium, light winds. Warmish, coolish.
Bait:Worm and sandeel.
Rigs:Various
Results:Mackeral, 1 sm Wrasse, 1sm Pollack and 1 sm Sandeel.
Report:Went to the beach at Dunfanaghy on our first day and seen the remains of the carnage caused by the "Red tide". Thousands of sea urchin "skulls", crab shells, razor shells etc... Must have wiped out all sea life on the beach! Anyway fished the beach that evening, nothing but a few small bites coming up to dark. Next morning Portnablagh harbour at dawn, some mackeral. Ran into Pat Robinson of "The Cricket" he says the bay is full of mackeral, with good pollock off the head. He recommended the channel at dunfanaghy for seatrout and flats. Tried it that evening on the flood tide, but no joy. Zilch! More mackeral at portnablagh and 1 sm pollock spinning. 1 sm wrasse at falcarragh.
Pretty crap few days, but the scenery and the craic made up for it.
North Donegal.

Pat's boat is out of the water today, so I doubt if it's sorted as yet.
I don't do much beachbashing, so I don't have a lot of info. Saw a couple of blokes fishing off Ards pier, one of them got a few mackeral on very light gear. Great fun for him, no bullying the fish, screaming reel etc.
Any mullet around yet? I reckon this Red Tide is causing a bit of grief with the fishing.
