penn powerstix pro 15'9

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Is a 15'9 rod going to be on the stiffer side? 13ft is plenty for me.

i dont have any experience with the 13, but i definately wouldnt class the 15 as a stiff rod, id say its ideal for general beach.
id imagine not musg difference, just the extra leangth, and guessing the 15 would be slightly througher actioned, or feel that way anyhow!

recently got one of these myself, its not a stiff rod.

i'm not a big chap by any means and i can assure you using this length of rod put me off for a while but on my first trip out i was shocked at how light and easy it was fished with .

i'm currently using it on clean beaches with a f/s and braid and 4oz leads and this set up is very pleasing to fish with.

the first night using it produced 5lb,3lb,2,5lb bass all of which gave a great account of themselves on this rod and the bend of the rod takes the no stretch braid really well i found i.m.o.

great value for money plus it can handle a double shot of dogs from the rocks too if needs must.

had one of these and it is anything but stiff, gives a great cast, but just not my cup of tea prefer the 2 piece rods, still great value for money

Just bought two 13foot ones for the wane and I think they are very very good rods for the price. Looking to buy a 15 foot one to try out

no worries.

slow this last two/three weeks to be honest - we've had 3 bass and a few big flounders on 1st/2nd of jan on a local beach - fished back harbour wall at the port a few times and few dabs, whiting. also took a trip to cushendun and had some codling, whiting but nothing of any size really. January is always slow for me so we will just have to see it through.
