#1 Post by last cast lad »

People:me,mick,gordan

Duration:5.30-9.00pm

Tide:rising

Weather:east breeze!

Bait:everything

Rigs:flapper, float rig

Results:coalfish, pollack, corkwing wrasse, mackeral, dogfish, pouting, plaice, conger and gordans Lobster

Report:Its been a long time since I posted a report, I can hardly remember how this computer thingy works  , I've done enough fishing but just haven't had all that much out of the ordinary to report :( .
With the warm spell of weather headed down to a local rock mark that can sometimes throw up a few surprises, only to find the breeze picking up and coming in from the east :( decided to set up and fish anyway(we fishermen can be pretty stubbern that way) fishing the bottom was pretty slow, about 6 fish but plenty entertainment with watcing the float, more fish than you could shake a stick at and even more missed. Gordan had phoned to say he was fishing a nearby mark so we said we'd call round to say hello, a bit later he called again to ask did we want a lobster at which point mick began thinking about packing up since ther was a lobster to be had :D
Never seen as big a lobster, do many get landed by rod and line, this one had taken the bait  and was hooked in the mouth

Nice going, enjoy the float fishing myself, seems more fun watching the float bob under sometimes than it does the rod tip twitching in the tripod.

I'd say a few lobsters are caught on rod and line, had one myself last year from Wicklow Pier, same as you genuinely hooked - had to remove the hook once he was cooked.
