south wexford/wexford and wicklow 9/10/10

#1 Post by mitch »

people me and millbrooke

bait lug /crab/razor/rag/clam

rigs flappers /pully's

results

took a chance and headed to south wex after bass ,arrived at mark
and were greeted by massive rollers breaking and running up the beach and not a sign of weed :) we set up a rod each and sent
out 2 hook flappers ,we didn't have long to wait first cast john had
a double a codling 0f 35 and flounder 30cm and then i got a slack liner and landed a bass of 42 cm :D fish quickly put back and thinking to myself were in for a great nights fishing

so 2nd rods were quickly sent out , 10 min later a blanket of weed
hit us and from 4 rods i managed to get 1 trace back  john lost
traces and shock leaders on both rods
so we had to pack up and hit the road  it was a killer especially knowing there was plenty of fish there

anyway plan b was a bit closer to home and again a smashing surf and no weed ,baits went out and came back in not touched :?
was like that for about 1 and half hrs and then the dreaded weed
came on

hit the road and wickla was our next port of call ,nice conditions and no weed happy days second cast and i got a nice codling of 39 cms and john had a whiting of 32 cm . the rest of the night there was plenty of whiting and small codling nothing exciting but enjoyable fishing all the same

there was a non national fishing and he came over asking the usual
questions , later when he packed up john went over to where he was fishing and found 2 dogfish alive and left to die, also rubbish and stale bait all left behind   these guys dont give a s..te or have any respect for anything or anybody .Well Not Here Anyway In Our Country Anyway
