West Waterford 25/09/10 Morning and evening sessions

#1 Post by declan65 »

People:me and one other

Duration:07:00-09:30,17:00-20:00

Tide:high at 7ish am and 19.30

Weather:fine dry settled

Bait:lures

Rigs:

Results:Bass and Pollock

Report:
Morning session, arrived at rock mark and was set up straight away, weather was perfect and water clairty good so hopes high, needn't have worried second cast bass 45 cm on a feed shallow. Reached for camera and realised it was in the car with the phone  .. that was the rush I was in to get down and start fishing. Anyways early doors so kept fishing.. second bass arrived about twenty minutes later 48 cm folowed by one more after another ten minutes which was 42 cm.Saw lots of other bass and had a good few folows but failed to connect with any more. Fished on until about 9:30 tide was retreating fast so packed up and went home. All fish returned.

Evening Session: Remembered camera and phone this time so all set, down to a rock mark with one other.Nothing doing for the first half hour or so then got hit by a steam roller, bass on, this one gave a good account of itself and eventually was landed see photo below. My buddy had one around ten minutes later and was so chuffed, he decided to keep it and head home to impress the missus, it was his first time lure fishing for bass so can't blame him for that. :D . Fished on by myself til darkness and for the last hour or so was into pollock every few minutes, no great size but lots of them.... great sport on light gear, took a few pics of the pollock and packed up and headed home, Happy Days. :D :D
