wicklow 8/9/10

#1 Post by mitch »

people me

tide rising

conditions calm, dry

rigs pullys /2 hook flappers

bait crab/lug

time 6 to 9 pm

results 3 smooth hounds 4 dogs and 3 codling

left the house and it was lashing out, onto the n11 and traffic
was crawling ,j..ses i was thinking to myself am i mad or what going
out in this f..king rain  anyway arrived at beach and got the
wet gear on . and then the rain stopped sun came out and all the
gear back off :P

set up 2 rods kept one close with a 2 h/flapper baited with lug
and 2 nd rod went out with crab at distance ,sat down and poured
a cup of coffee and looked up at rods to see the rod in close was
getting a knock and in came a codling of about 35 cm, great start
i was thinking as i was returning the fish when i heard the ratchet scream
on the other rod :P picked it up and connected with a nice hound 8) rebaited both rods and straight back out and five mins later
i got another run and in came smoothie no 2 happy days ,

dogs showed up for a while and i had 3 in a row ,thought that was
it ,things went quiet for about half an hour and then i got a codling
on crab at distance ,down to my last crab so rebaited and out
it went ,it was only in water 2 or 3 mins and i got another run and in came another nice hound :P and just as i was finishing up i got a knock on other rod and that was another codling

it was a super little session and im looking foward to getting back
to this mark again  roll on sat night

dave is going to put some photos up shortly
