Weather: Very Sunny & Hot

Report:

Aug 25th

Managed to fit in a few quick sessions with the first one at a beach mark to try for a few Flatties, but on arrival the place was very busy with surfers & kids  so we headed over the rocks to a wee spot I haven’t fished in years.
Got to the rocks & set up, casted out a pulley rig with Mack strips & Sandeel to a sandy hole & within minutes got a good knock hoping that it might be a Ray  but turned out to be a nice Pollock of 3lb which was very white from the sandy bottom.
But it went very quiet after that with just another small Pollock & a Starfish so called it a day. On our way back to the car I met Yorkshire Man from the site & a friend of his fishing the beach, hopefully they caught a few nice fish, good to meet ye lads.

August 31st

With the lovely weather we’re having lately I just couldn’t help myself but chance a couple of hours spinning & it paid off with plenty of Pollock up to just under 3lb weight & a few small Coalies & two Mackerel.
I lost a few bigger Pollock due to leaving my tackle box in the car  & only had one spinner with me that had small trebles on it. A lovely evening to be out, flat calm sea, no wind & plenty of fish.

September 2nd

With a few hours to spare we made our way to my favourite mark which usually throws up some decent fish & it doesn’t usually disappoint.
Gave the Wrasse a shot first with Limpets & landed the first of the day-a nice Ballan of 3lb followed by another bigger Ballan of 4.5lb :D which almost buried itself into the kelp but with a bit of luck got her landed.
The tide had just turned so we moved back further down the rocks to give the spinner a lash. It was slow at first with just some small Pollock taking but then hooked something which I thought was a good Trout as it was putting up a super scrap & turned out to be one very plump Mackerel the biggest I’ve caught weighing just over 2.5lb  .
Things slackened of for while ‘til I got a good take & was into a decent Pollock which put up a mighty scrap, was happy to get her landed, a few quick pics & tip the scales at 6lb :D & back she went to fight another day.
The Girlfriend was catching plenty of small Pollock & Coalies-great craic 8) . Another great day to be out fishing, sea was flat calm-little or no wind, & some good fish-Happy Days!! 8)

A great few days fishing Brian , well done to you and the other (better  ) half. Your catching some lovely wrasse at the minute, the crack with them and the pollock must be great. Both can give youa great fight once hooked. Try and make the most of them over the next few weeks before the winter really hits in. That mackerel is a monster, I'd be lucky to get any this year down where I live nevermind one that size, it's been very poor this year for them which is annoying when you need some for bait.
Great report and class pictures as always, I always look forward to reading your reports, keep up the good work mate 8)
