Fahan Beach

#1 Post by scrob »

People: me

Duration: 5:00-6:30pm

Tide: low tide, flooding

Weather: sunshine!!

Bait: mack

Rigs: pulley/flattie rig

Results: 3 flounder

I had the first of my Final Admitting Exams today for my chartered accountancy and after 4.5hrs at the paper I was ready to explode!! So hopped in the car, called in with Bertie o'neills for some bait and hit Fahan for a wee while to chill out. I have still to catch my first ray, so just plugging away hoping it will come soon.

Today I chucked a pulley out a bit further and on the second rod I put on a flattie rig. After about 10 mins I had a huge knock on the pulley rod and a slack line, struck into it but whatever it was stripped the bait. Rebaited and chucked it back out, but there was little action on that rod again apart from some smaller random bites which never resulted in anything. No ray today either!

The flattie rig was a different story though. I only chucked it out about 20 yards and had constant nodding the whole time, ended up with 3 pretty flounder all around the 15-20cm mark. Not huge but beat the blank and really destressed me after that pig of an exam!!

Back to the exams tomorrow and Thursday, then hopefully a fishing marathon to follow to celebrate the end of 21 years of school/uni/CA exams forever!!!
