Headed down to Kilmicheal on saturday as had read very good reports about it, but when we arrived we were covered in those tiny flys. Only lasted 15 mins and had to leave as you couldnt relax at all. It was that bad when we got back to the car the windscreen was black completely covered in the little buggers
We moved onto clogga to see if it was any better, lovely sandy beach and no flys which was a good start. fished the beach for about 3 hours with nothing biting at all, Our bait wasnt even beeing touched. Tried the rocks for the last hour to see if our luck chanced but we drew a blank there too. There was plenty of fish around though as we could see two seal's eating big fish.
As we were leaving something twigged with us the beach was covered in shells. More than either of us had ever seen on any beach. And we thought maybe we were using the wrong bait ? if the beach is covered in shells does this mean the fish have more of a shell fish diet than worm or mack ????
