found one of these in the shead 2 speed what are these good for. does any one have one big reel. id say it was never used and from the early seventies.

Cracking reel mate they are considered a bit big for shore work now days but you could use it for that if you wished to. But the are a good reel for boat fishing and now days they are well sought after by collectors if its in tip top condition. You can check the year it was manufactured by the serial number the first 2 digits are the year of manufacture usually so if it starts with 77xxxxxxx then its 1977.
