trigger happy the kerry way

#1 Post by lucky »

people... myself,stefwest and tornadeo8..

bait ,, all sorts

tides,,all sorts

rigs,,all sorts...

RESULT...A plan was hatched to go to kerry for the weekend... tornadeo8 was after his first bass ever so kerry was the choice...there was 3 of us with 3 different wish list,, mine was blone ray and painted,, stefwest was trigger fish,, tornadeo8 was bass and painted ray..... maybe a big order to fill.... got to the first mark at 11pm so rods out, bait on and in they went,,, tornadeo8 was first of the mark with a fine painted ray,,, then stefwest the same and then it was my turn all got painted ray....about an hour into the session stefwest was a hugh bang on his rod but failed to hook it... finished up and hit the bed,, alarms set for 6am bed was still cold getting out of it....  day two.. first mark nothing happened all blanked,, so off to the second mark this time is was a spinning mark hopeing for some bass,,, but no joy either there,, but as we where walking down the mark i notice a few fish just under the surface,,, put the lures over them but no joy ,, then stef set up a float but we had no bait ,, it was in the car ,,so like macgiver stef went climbing over rocks and got a few limpets on they went and stef had on put the bait into the water bang out came a trigger fish to about 2 lbs,,, so feck this we all had a go we all got trigger wish we finished up with about 12 trigger fish.... so three happy lads then... lunch time was up next and then mark three... bait rods out and plugging gear on.... first cast stefwest hit a bass, and what a scrap it gave,,,, tornadeo8 was next and then myself... we had over 20 bass on that mark all to the plugs nothing on the bait rods... dinner time and then mark 4..... stef was first off with a fine flounder to 3 lbs... and then myself with a blone ray at 10lbs so all 3 wish list was done happy out :P :P :P so a few pints where call for then,,, cheers lads.... day3,,, was another plugging session.... all three of us had bass all in the 6 lbs range and plenty of them.... time up headed for home..... great weekend with two great lads also....... cheers again stef and mike.... roll on 2 weeks time again.......

If you upload them to Photobucket and copy the direct link they give you when you add your photos there. Use the Img tab above the post reply screen and copy the link between the brackets on the screen. ....

Hopes this makes sense Alan!

What can I say apart from Excellent stuff lads! 8) That is a brilliant result for just a few days fishing....sounds like heaven to me.
You's have managed to catch a species on my wishlist, the triggerfish. I’m not jealous at all I promise (aye right)  Some quality bass too, well done men 8)
It sounds like the fishing down there in Kerry at the minute is amazing. I hope it stays like that until I go.
Those rays are fantastic too. Sounds like a fun but hectic and tiring few days was had........good luck on your next trip down although I don’t think you need it!! I am looking forward to the report already!
