Mulrany 28-08-10

#1 Post by Nite Owl »

People:me

Duration:45mins

Tide:dropping to Lw

Weather:dead calm

Bait:lures

Rigs:

Results:1 bass

Report:Had a wedding to go to in Mulrany in Mayo on Saturday, so of course a rod, waders and lures were thrown in the boot, even before the suitcase was packed. Got there late on Friday evening and headed out at midnight for a short session. Spent an hour walking around looking for a suitable spot and had an odd little bump on the first cast. Second cast landed a 45cm bass and third cast took a small mack on a feed shallow in about 2 feet of water  Had 2 more mack bites after that and dropped a bass  Still delighted with the result for a session in the dark in a spot I'd never been to before. Went back the following day to have a look at the mark in daylight and I reckon that it could fish better around HW and if the macks are coming in that close there might be a chance of a big bass. Pity its so far away from Dublin.
