People:myself

Duration:14:00 to 22:00

Tide:low to high and going out again

Weather:dry and a cool wind

Bait:mackerel,sandeel,feathers

Rigs:various

Results:3 thornback ray




Report:I had a half day at work today so when I finished I headed off to see if I could find a few more ray to tag,first I hit my ray mark in the bay and set up,I only had to wait 5 mins for the first ray,I thought I hooked a scallop shell when I saw the size of it :lol:

the next 2 ray were a bit bigger one was 6lbs the other was 7.5lbs
hit the pier later for awhile,had plenty of bites but no hook ups

good man jerry.its a long day for 3 ray thou.still better than been in da house i suppose :mrgreen: .must get down ur way soon and hit that mark we said we wud try

I spent more time talking and having the craic with a few lads I met then watching the rods,I enjoyed the day :D when ever you want to try the mark let me know and we will try arrange some thing

if some of the other fish were as plentiful as the thornies I would be a lot happier :D,the tag is one I put on,the cfb sent me a kit for tagging the same as what they use for tagging fish on the charter boats,the tagging program has been running for about 40 years now

nice one on the thornies gerry,and the tagging,hope they extend that scheme next year.
