Back to bait in Ballymoney 24/08/10

#1 Post by Nite Owl »

People:me

Duration:21:00 to 00:00

Tide:hw 21:30 ish

Weather:calm

Bait:rag

Rigs:various

Results:5 dogs, 3 flounder, 1 bass, 1 codling

Report: Hadn't bait fished in weeks so headed to Ballymoney on Tuesday evening after work. Most comfortable nights fishing in ages, warm and dry and the full moon was so bright that it felt like daytime. If I didn't have to work the following morning I would have fished thru till dawn. Got a few fish, missed loads more, never checked the gear before going out and the hooks were like balls of rust. Had great fun with the dogs, they were fighting for a change, must have been the moon driving them mad. One fought so well I was sure I had a bass, but the poor little fella had the hook coming out thru his eye, no wonder he was going mental. Got the bass soon after that always good to get, and the codling was over 30cm which is a rarity for me. Very enjoyable.
