Arklow 22-8-10

Time 8pm - 12
Tide: High Water 8:50pm
Weather: Overcast Slight Breeze and a bit of a Surf
Bait: Lug / Frozen Sandeel
Rigs: 1 Up 1 Down Paternoster
Results: Small Codling and Flatties


Started Fishing At 8pm It was a little windy but soon changed to a slight breeze the fish were biting and i was reeling in empty hooks! Caught A few small Codling and And what i think is a Flounder im not too good on telling them apart i took a picture to see if anyone could help its in my photo albums was too big to attach!!. No Bass or Smoothies sadly but i enjoyed the night!! Roll on the weekend again :D

Fair play mate & thats definately a flounder :)
Maybe the Bass and Smoothies will show on your next session.

The smoothies are caught on lug but crab or rag would probably put you in with a better shot.

Cheers thanks. I had a feeling it was a Flounder but wasnt sure!! Yeah maybe the smoothys will show next time!! We shall see the weekend!! :)

At least you werent shooting blanks :P nice flounder,and as al said crab and rag are your best bet mostly at distance on calm nights but not always best to fish two rods to give yourself the best possibly chance. .

Exactly :) i hate that feeling when your out for a few hours and you havnt been catching and you realise its gonna be a blank!! :( I was well happy he made the night thanks! You couldnt be more right Trojan... My Uncle had a smoothy on it took off and it ran the length of the beach nearly and swept up everyone elses gear along the way!! The fun we had untangling that in the dark :)
