CHANGING FROM A FIXED SPOOL TO A MULTIPLIER

well im changing from a fixedspool reel to a multiplier i have used a fixed spool all my life and i fancy changing but i havent a clue which 1 to buy. ive used a multiplier on a boat a few times but never cast with 1. could anybody give me an idea which 1 to buy??? i i want a good all round multiplier that can deal with rough ground cause i useually fish rockmarks. its for an sonik sk 4 16

the penn 525 mag is about as alround as it comes is easy enough to cast after practise its not too big and its as strong as an ox with big gears and hi speed retrieve included... exactly the reel i think your lookinf for

i think your mad ,for rough ground a big fixed spool will get your gear up and out of snags twice as quick as a multi ,you will also find it wont add more than a few yards to your cast ,i use both but would always go for a big fs for rough stuff
those reels look like an abu they even copied the new look star drag (i think the old style looked better )still if they cast well and last good luck to em
as paul said 525 for rough stuff its prob unbreakable
try to get a second hand one or you could get one of these

You are correct there, these ‘new’ Akios reels appear to be rebadged Omoto reels, Omoto used to be an OEM supplier to ABU, the cheaper made in Taiwan ABU's were made by Omoto.
