having lower entry will get more to enter - and one would feel less like a pot generation unit if your not a superstar match angler

bait restrictions would make the spend on bait less also and prevent comps where whoever can source 100 peeler usually wins

as for night and day - a mixture is good - but would more anglers turn out for day times ones

imo :?:

there wasnt an option for this but what if the prize money was spread out more to say 1st 2nd 3rd then the same in zones it means theres no big cash prizes for any one or two anglers but every competitor gets a chance of a cash prize that might increase numbers and therefore increase more money for prizes

Zone prizes were brought in a long time ago because some beaches have hot spots and fish better than others and if you're not on them you've no chance of winning. For example there could be three different beaches fished in one competition and one beach could fish it's socks off and the other two might be poor. Then all the prize winners come from one beach "not fair".
We have endeavored recently to spread the prize money over more zone places. while more anglers get a prize, some lads are complaining that it doesnt even cover their expenses, so in that respect it's hard to please everyone.
In the South Shore open competitions we have brought in an innovative idea of the golden peg, it means that if you get the longest fish while fishing on a pre-designated peg you could win a small fourtune. This can run for years, the pot can build up to 1000s and the beauty is that anyone can win.

This poll seems to have topped out and it seems like there is a strong favor for lower entry fees, with no bait restrictions, and a mixture of day and night competitions.
It's good to get some feedback and know what lads are thinking. Thanks for the input.
