wexford... 5/8/10

People:me

Duration:11.30am-3.00pm

Tide:rising

Weather:clear

Bait:Rag and crab

Rigs:two hook flappers

Results:13 wrasse n 1 red gurnard
left this morning and got some rag worm with great hope of a good afternoons fishing... and good it was.. threw in the first line about 11.30 n had a take straight away.. straight into a wrasse.. n continued to catch wrasse all afternoon.. 13 in total n a small red gurnard in the middle.. great fun... pics of some of them are below.. a good days fishing.. wahooo.. cant beat it

i actually thought it was a weaver so didnt take any chances with it.. a guy walkin by said it was a gurnard.. good job i didnt grab it so.. ha

Scorpion fish are fine to hold :D

Don't they have 2 spikes on their gills though that if they wriggle in your hand they can stick ya?

Alot of species do, look at Bass they can cut you to bits if you dont hold them carefully and Rays thorns can give ya cut if your not careful, I meant that they are not poisonous like weaver fish but in saying that I've never been cut by a scorpion fish, stick your thumb in their mouth and you should be fine :D
