Inis Oirr, Aran Islands. Any marks?

#1 Post by buster3215 »

Hi, I'm off to Inis Oirr, Aran Islands next week. Anyone found any good marks? What can I hope to hook from the rocks and or pier?

There's a smallish old pier near Trá Caorach (I think it's called) - its along the coast in direction of the Plassey which is very good for pollock and mackerel. Further on along the rocks (in direction of Plassey) has some great pollock spots and I have seen a lot of mullet around there also.

There is another smallish pier in the opposite direction from the main pier, (towards Inis Meain) about 10 minute walk from main pier which can also be good for pollock. When standing on pier looking in direction of Inis Meain, if you fish in front and to the left, there is a sheltered area where the pollock tend to congregate. I find the other pier and surrounding area far more productive though.
