Red Bay 28th July
A wee mate of mine has been itching to get out fishing with me for some time now, so I promised I'd take him for a few sessions during the week as we both had time off work. I had intended to fish waterfoot pier as I knew he would get a few fish. However, sunny day and the pier was packed to capacity! So a quick re-think was in order and I decided to shoot on round the corner to another well known spot.
I fished a rod at distance and one in close. Stuarty started off with the float and missed a few nice bites in close. This set the pace for the day with lots of ballen wrasse and pollock in close. Stuarty missed a Ballen of about 1.5lbs as he tried to flick him onto the rocks
. I only managed a small plaice on the rod at distance. We then shot on round the corner to meet Al and Mark for the rest of the evening.Bangor Pier 29th July
Headed over to bangor to use up the left over rag and try for the minis, I was after a few for the species list. Again we had bites from the off, with us both deciding to use the float for some sport. I was well pleased when I got the 2 species I had hoped for within the 1st 10mins
a little poor cod and a goldsinny wrasse 
The action was constant through out with lots of small pollock, pouting, poor cod and wrasse.
Co. Antrim 1st August
A couple of the mates wanted to head out for a session, both requested "something with a bit of weight" so I took them to a never fail mark to catch dogs. It was one of the fellas 1st time fishing so I didn't get all that much done myself due to constant re-riging due to snaggy ground. But I was over the moon when both lads landed there 1st fish before me
NOT!!!! We all had a host of dogs within a few hours as the competition for the most fish continued 
One of the lads wanted to try for something different as the sun went down. I suggested he fished tight to the edge to pick up any pollock, coali's etc and didn't the Jammy git go and catch a 3 beardy (still haven't got one myself) and a nice one at that. Within mins I seen him huffing and puffing and again up came a nice fish. This time a v nice shore rockling, he was chuffed with his work. Stupidly had no scales in the box to even get a weight but biggest I have seen in a while.
