forest comes close to a 40lb. tope

#1 Post by bubba gump shrimp »

People: me doit1983 and forest

Duration:6:15 pm till 10:00 pm

Tide:low and rising

Weather:slightly over cast with breaks of sun but still warm

Bait:mackeral and plugs

Rigs:pully spinning plugs

Results:me none doit1983 none forest 1 tope

we went out last night for a spot of bass fishing as forest and doit1983 got takes at this mark 2 weeks ago forest caught one around 2 pound. As we were driving to the bass mark we passed the mark we have had two 40lb. tope and a 25lb. tope from and seen the tide was just right so we agreed to give it half an hour before the tide turned. as doit and i were still baiting up forest launched out his first bit of bait and had a breakoff  he took his rod apart and said he was going to wait for the bass and not try again. Doit and i still went a head and chucked ours out and tried to convince forest to set up again. After about 5 mins my rod twitched a bit and then the line went slack i reeled into it but i missed my chance. Forest then set up again and threw in another lump of mac we were standing about 10 mins and forests rod started twitching aswell doing the same as mine only he waited to see if it would run. A couple of minutes passed and nothing happened so we decided to pack up and go in search of a few bass forest started reeling his rod then his drag took off screaming  the fish gave him a brilliant fight and took about 10 mins to land we weighed her in at 38lb. his biggest yet and a third fish around the 40lb mark from the same spot. After a couple of photos she was released to fight again. we all packed up and went looking for some bass after all it was the reason we were out we got to the mark and spent around 3 hours wading and spinning plugs and spinners but with no joy i think the water was a bit too calm for the bass. But all in all it was a good nights fishing it makes blanking alot easier when you help land a fish the size forest caught.
