Hi there,

Any suggestions on how to catch Lemon Sole or Plaice around the Waterford area?

Thanks,

I'm afraid I'm no expert on the area at all but would be surprised if lemon sole are a realistic prospect. If there are a few about then the only advice I can suggest is to use very small hooks as they have tiny mouths. People suggest using small hooks for dover sole, which have gaping chasms by comparison so I'd go down as small as a size 10 and maddies or something similar.

Plaice? Don't get them my way so not much help other than the usual advice for them. Good bit of bling on the trace and about a size 1 with rag/crab/mussel cocktail, probably no harm in the rig moving through the swim a bit too.
