West Waterford 25/07/10

#1 Post by declan65 »

People:mise and a French tourist

Duration: One hour

Tide:HW

Weather:Warm bit overcast

Bait:Lures various

Rigs:

Results:4 bass to 56 cm

Report:

Decided to get out for hw at alocal mark, arrived to find some french tourists parked up. Was getting my gear together when one of them approached and asked in very broken english was I fishing?...and then proceeded to get rod and gear from his jeep, decided what the hell and motioned him to follow me. arrived at mark got set up , noticed french matie hadnt really got the right lures so gave him an old feed shallow from the bag and pointed him in the right direction. 5 minutes in got the first bass on a zonk, landed took photo etc. , me man was apoplectic at this stage so swapped over with him he got one about 5 mins later on the feed shallow. Had another one myself on the feed shallow and about 10 mins later me man had another. Game over so two fish each, made our way back to the car park and more photos with french maties wife and their friends who were lets just say typically french in their exuberance over the bass!!, followed by "Will you have some Pastis?" No better to finish off the session had one with them, exchanged pleasantries in broken Franglais, and as a final thank you me man hands me a nice bottle of Bordeaux, so gratefully accepted and headed home. 8)

Thanks for all the comments lads, you can be sure me man was very excited judging by his reaction and that of his buddies, apparently they were on the last leg of their trip heading for Cork for the ferry today so they had an extra special souvenir of Ireland to bring with them 8)
