Mullet on the Fly

#1 Post by colin c »

People:Me

Duration:A couple of hours

Tide:

Weather:so so

Bait:Flies

Rigs:

Results:Mullet

Report:Have been trying out different flies for the mullet this season and have found 2 which are really working well so far.Had a few missed takes before i hooked and landed this nice chap :D weighing 4lb 3. After that i had a few more follows and missed takes when i hooked into another fish which was putting up a hell of a scrap.Seen him a few times and i dont even want to guess what weight it was but he was BIG.Anyway after about 7 or 8 minutes into the fight i lost him due to my own stupidity.Wasnt too annoyed, was happy with the one i landed earlier.

Mullet on the fly is the only way to go, I reckon my best fighting fish was a mullet on the "shite fly" size 12 hook with 4lb cast... wicked

Nice fish there man well done 8)

I have been trying two rods mate.
I bought one of my wee lads a 7 ft 4 weight rod and i have been messing about with it  havent landed a mullet on it yet but lost a few.The fight was quite interesting on that
The other rod im using is a PHD 9# which is doing the job

You def should give Mullet a go on the fly rod.
Its a lot better than standing watching a float for hours.

If someone shows you a mark to fish, respect it and dont pass it of as one of your own, dont tell every man and his dog about it.

Have a couple of flies tied up and waiting, just watching the tide, and was going to dander down tonight, but the heavens have opened, so I think I'll wait out. Maybe get a rattle with my new seaweed fly tomorrow!
