Galway part 2- 8/7/10

#1 Post by chrisfeeney30 »

People:myself and husshunter

Duration:9.30-2am

Tide:hw about 1.30ish

Weather:westerly wind, few showers

Bait:sandeel,mack and razor

Rigs:flappers and clipped downs

Results:whiting,pollack,poor cod, pouting,thornback ray, dogfish

Report:Organised a session with yanto, conditions looked decent for the particular mark so off we went. We both had whiting 1st casts. Then i got a poor cod/pouting double at distance. It was my turn again, got a decent thornie of about 4lbs on sandeel. I then managed another thornie in close on a match rig with size 6 hooks haha again about the 4lbs mark. It was then yantos turn pulling in a decent pollack followed by a chunky ray over 6lbs. I got another ray at distance when yanto got a good bite and pulled in another cracker of a ray. The dogs had started to play at this stage and there was a scatter of them around. It was my turn to get a better fish after getting a decent bite i managed a ray identical to yantos 6lbs one on the light rig. Was a nice nights fishing.
I ended up with 5 doggies, 4 ray, 1 whiting, 1 pouting and 1 poor cod.
Not sure what yanto had other then 1 whiting, 1 pollack, 2 ray and a scatter of doggies!
