People: me
Duration: 10.30 pm to midnight
Weather: dead calm
Bait: rag
Rigs:2 hook flapper size 1 hook
Results: 3 x doggie, small whiting and a big smoothhound
Report: yes folks finally got me a decent sized smut, after quite a few pups, landed a 3 fter last night.
wasn't expecting much of a session, had a couple of almost blanks last week.
started pulling in the dogs, happy enough, keeping me busy, was down to my last few (small) rag at around 11.45 and decided to have a last cast and head back. Had a tinkle on the bell, not very vigorous, but as soon as i got the rod in my hand he started running and i knew it wasn't a dog, thought maybe a bass. took my time but it wasnt to hard a fight , i reckon i had only cast out about sixty yards as my weight was only 3 1/2 oz. So he was a bit hemmed in for his runs. Best reel in i've had from the shore tho. nice specimen had white dots on top, starry smut then???. nicely hooked easy out, had a good look at him and returned safely for another day. went back to my mobile very very happy.
cheers
paddy

Good man Paddy well done. It's great having the mobile so close and you don't have a massive drive home.

nice 1 paddy
Fisherman's prayer:
God grant that I may live to fish, For another rainy day.
But when my final cast is made, I then most humbly pray.
When nestled in your landing net, As I lay peacefully asleep.
You'll smile at me and judge, That I'm "good enough to keep"!
