greystones 4/7/10

#1 Post by tommy »

PEOPLE:just me
duration:8-10:30 tide:low
weather:lovely red sky
Bait:smelly lug,squid,mackerel,sandeel
rigs:baited feathers and various wrasse and rough ground rigs
results:whiting,dogfish.bull huss

REPORT:Went to greystones rocks to try for wrasse. had no luck with them whiting kept taking the bait for wrasse and i could see them stripping of the bait.they were swallowing 4/0 hooks intended for a bull huss.had no luck with wrasse after losing many shockleaders and rigs to the sea. did have luck with a bull huss very small maybe 2 pound weight and a couple of dogfish and plenty of whiting all on squid and mackerel bait. i would say the fish had too much respect too touch the lugworm as it was baked during the day and was already two days old. still cant figure out how to put up pics but i am trying.
