my first thornie

#1 Post by bubba gump shrimp »

tide rising then falling

area fahan

weather very windy and very wet

results me 1 thornie forest blank

30th june

time 8pm to midnight

we were working down in derry at a job and we had to stay over so we decided to try and cath are first ever thornies so we decided fahan was going to be the place to target. when we arrived down the tide had started to come in but lucky for us it was a small tide and it did not push us back to far and we could still hit the channel. we got set up and cast out one rod each the wind and rain started to get worse but we were not going to give up as we only had one night to try and catch are target species. Forest's rod was the first to see action with a mighty bite and a good fight aswell but he snaged up and it would not come free after a couple of pulls his braid broke off. We thought this was the start of a good nights fishing but that was the last bite he got. i got a bite about 15 mins after forest got his this time instead of a hard pull my line went slack i reeled up the slack and struck into my first thornie. i like forest got no more bites all night and after 4 hours fishing we decided to call it a night aww well i came for a thornie and left with a thornie not bad for my first go at them. after the tope 2 weeks ago and the thornie this week my next challenge will be a bass or a mullet ive never caught any of them yet.
