wexford fishing tour 21st-23rd of june

Well Gentlemen
had a few days of work so decided to dust of the rods and make the trip down to fishin central.

21st of June
Hookhead
Nice light spinning gear, afew wedges and german sprats.
Lots and lots of pollock them boys can really hit those lures hard.
Largest one around 2lbs, was gettin bigger ones last year wonder where their all gone???.
No sign of any macks yet or else i just didnt stay around late enough, noticed last year they would go mental for a about 30mins just before it got dark.

22nd of June
Rosslare
Time for the beachcaster, lugs and rags.
Lots of floating weed and crabs.
Thought we were going to blank until the rod doubled over on the tripod.
This fella took a nice bit of line and about 5mins to tame.
First smoothie of the year. 4 or 5lbs.
Maybe there was so many crabs around it was a sign the fish were thin on the ground.

23rd of June
After nearly blanking the night before headed abit more north away from those pesky bait robbers.
Again using worm baits. There was still some weed around but was managable. On the first retrieve the bait came back in ok nick so guess we had outrun the crabs.
Was'nt long before the first fish a nice flounder,then a doggie and small smoothie.
Got a few more flounder over the next hour or so.
Started hitting a few schoolies to around 2lb. They can put up a good struggle, can't wait to try and catch one of their bigger brothers on the spinning gear.
Hopefully the weather stays somewhat like summer this year can't wait for the next trip.
