dublin hound bashing sunday 27th

People:me and the 2 brothers ( james&david)

Duration:10pm-1am

Tide:hw 1.15

Weather:nice

Bait:lug,crab

Rigs:1up 1down

Results:me 5 starry hounds 1 common hound, james 1 starry hound, david blank




Report:arrived at mark about 9.50 and rods in the water for 10 my rod was only in the water 5 mins and it doubled over i grabed it and struck but missed when i was re baiting i heard a voice behind me it was rustyhooksthomas i had a short chat with him and he gave me some very nice lug and off he went down the mark many thanks tomso out went big lug baits after 10mins or so i got a small knock so i left it for a while but noting happened just as i was going to reel in the rod bent and kept going struck fish on this time after a couple of reels the fish went mad takeing runs everywere after about 5mins i had it landed a nice starry at 35 inches and just over 6lb a new p.b for me next cast i had a 5lb starry and then soon after i had another at 4.5 then i got my first ever common hound at 4lb then james had a starry at just over 4lb his first ever hound i finished the night with another 2 starrys smaller at about 3lb each all in all no better way to spend 3 hours

good session indeed, i got one for my effort, measured in at 34" but had no scales!! i well had the craic on my little spinning rod with runs all over the place :) great fun til ye try and land it on yer tod in the dark!
good to meet again, and the brothers! don't mention the few lug i gave ye as i always dig a few extra,
ye never know when they come in handy :wink:
was out again tonight for an hour or so and got another fine starry and a small bass of just under a kg or so.
legged it when the lightening started!! :cry: :cry:
species 2009, whiting :(, three beard rockling,.shore rockling, 5 beard rockling, flounder, lesser spotted dogfish,bullhuss, dab,bass(13), more whiting : pollock,poorcod,pouting, sea trout(the dodder!)brown trout,sea scorpion,mackerel, silver eel,
