It sounds like you's had a great day at the mullet, it was a pity that I couldn't join you's but work called for me. When you text me Al to tell me that he had a nice fish I was over the moon and got really excited. And you where right, it is a nice fish indeed.
It's great that you where there with your certified scales so that the weight of Norman's mullet could be confirmed accurately without any doubt. I believe that 5lb is the specimen weight

Nice one Norman, I'm made for you!
Hard luck yourself Al, it sounds like they drove you mad, now you know how I have felt all week fishing for them!
We'll both get one soon if it kills us which it probably will do
I'll get out at the weekend at them so hopefully then I'll get one, fingers crossed. Your very welcome to join us.
Thanks for putting up a great report, K2 called into me at work to tell me about it, he is made up with his catch.
cheers paula. even thow i did'nt get one myself i still had a great day

''- I know it very well:) 5lbr is a stonker fish. I like a lot of your mullets shapes. Torpedos. Mine are fat b@strds

cheers man. at the rate i'm going i would even settle for the posh spice of the mullet world never mind the torpedoes or fat b@~#*!(s

on your specimen mullet.

cheers man. i'll just have to stick at it
FISHYFINGERS wrote:Nice one guys. We were not too far away on the second mark but had no luck at all, although big numbers of large fish in the water. Couldn't get them to stick around long enough in one place to take a proper interest in any baits, despite throwing a whole loaf at them!!
tell me about it man.. some of them just went snorting by us at speed with no interest what's so ever on feeding. mabey the better tides in the next 2 weeks will encourage them to slow the run down a bit and feed a bit longer
cky wrote:Well done Norman on the specimen and hard luck Al.
Yes it can be frustrating but very addictive, you'll know why when you get one on the hook.
Have blanked 4 times this year for them but caught a tiddler one whilst on holidays.
Can't wait to get at them again, see you's around the lough!!
cky
cheers man will do. if you spot us sure come on over for a chat
tell me about it don

. at least you got a few takes mate. it's had to put into words just how annoying it is to watch a dozen massive mullet swim past your float and attack it and ignore your bread

no wonder they look like they're smiling, probably pissing themselves laughing at us
Dawsey wrote:Well done k2! HAHA Al's now got the bug, with the hours you put in bud your bound to hit into 1 sooner than later, lay of averages!

just gotta remember to leave enough time for a beer after every mullet session now to chill out and relax

at this rate i'll be adding a stick of dynamite to my essential mullet kit
rodbender wrote:Oh boy, 1 worker, 1 scud and 1 expert.

Well done K2 and I guess thats you flat out at the mullet till you get one Al while poor Paula works away.
well,,, i gotta look on the bright side ivan. at least the car did'nt break down or nothing disasterous happened on this trip

Great report Al, you will get one one of these years soon..

I discovered last year that horrible frustration and wonderful mesmerisation of those torpedoes gliding around you, it's a bit surreal sometimes
i haven't managed to get out fishing for them this year yet (or much else for that matter). Have a house move soon but hope to get out next month to try for my first one

cheers fenton. good luck with the move and we'll likely see you out mullet hunting during august man
doggie3131 wrote:nice one norman, and al,ye will have to work hard to get one, lots more milage then!

that three- nil norman!! poor paula!

thanks noel, thankfully all the mullet marks are only 10 to 25 mins from my front door

. just think how many loaves i can buy with the money i'm saving on petrol
Der Baron wrote:Al, if I'd realised that was you and Norman on that stretch yesterday I'd have introduced myself!
was that you and another guy fishing on the bank across from us paul??
grady wrote:well done al and norman pretty fish there that good 1 lads

cheers man. thankfully i only want to get one for my species list, then i'll leave them alone. fishing is ment to relax you,,,, not make you want to kill dead things after every session
FisherKing wrote:Fine Mullet, well done

going to try them next week myself hopefully!!
thanks brian. hopefully you'll have better luck than me at it
