Dublin bay smoothies

#1 Post by robbiemag »

People: Meself and some friends on a boat

Duration:11.00 am til 1.30p.m

Tide:2 hours of the drop

Weather: calm sea

Bait:lug, rag and crab

Rigs:pulley rig and feathers

Results: 2 smoothies, 1 gurnett and lots of small cod.

Report:

Headed out on the boat into Dublin bay just out past the poolbeg lighthouse in the hope for some mackeral bashin. Another day without a single mac. Decided to try some ground fishing. We were drifting from lighthouse heading south with tide. Picked up some really small cod for the first hour or so then a gurnett. I only had 4 frozen crab with me so decided to try them out. within a half hour or so got a bang on me rod. A good scrap later pulled in me first smoothie.A quick photo and released the fish as quick as I could, Baited up and back into the water. A few minutes later had another knock on the rod. Another good smoothie. The last fish of the day. Headed back to shore for 2.00. Headin to wexford for 2 days today. Hopefully there is a few smoothies down around the Roslare area too :D :D
