5 Mile Point Leinster League u16s and u21s

#1 Post by trout hunter jnr »

People:Around 20

Duration:Check point charlie between 1.30 and 2 action 3 til 7

Tide:as blue as a blue pen

Weather:windy but nice

Bait:lug,frozen lug, mack, sandeel

Rigs:Homemade by me minion

Results:for me myself and I a dogfish and flattie

Report:After around a months break from fishing we got back into the swing in style at the venue of 5 mile point. After setting up I was in the zone ready for action as I had to go an hour early because I was playing in a concert.....god im always on the go! 1st cast with a tonne of weed but amidst the slimy stuff there was a little 21 cm flatfish and so cast back out and get set up.....than while baiting up furiously the rod was banging........doggie on board  yes i know they're brilliant for the scorecard but I hate the unhooking ......i did try but failed miserably in unhooking the horrible thing but as per usual Eammon was on hand to assist me with tips to unhook the dog...Brilliant I thought. 2 fish 2 casts I was in for good fishing but I was wrong :? nothing for the next 2 and a half hours only lots and lots of weed....luckily i didnt give up and say ah sure ill miss the hour as with 71 points on the card and with half an hour to go i was on top of the catch list. I live in hope that someone on the site may have over heard my name being called out as I cant wait until the 10th of July in Ennereilly to find out if I got one step closer to the Inter pros in february 2011!
Fisherman's prayer:
God grant that I may live to fish, For another rainy day.
But when my final cast is made, I then most humbly pray.
When nestled in your landing net, As I lay peacefully asleep.
You'll smile at me and judge, That I'm "good enough to keep"!

best advice for catching species is girls dont like fishing and its hard to catch fish when you sell all your gear'
