Sea angling in Dalkey/Killiney
I've been getting a boat from Bulloch recently, have been doing so for years but recently I haven't been catching much at all. I've been fishing on the seaward side of Dalkey Island, around the little island with the lighthouse and just out beyond Sorrento point. I've been using mackerel flasher rigs (still haven't got any mackerel in this area though) and ragworm on leadheads, which usually works great for larger pollack around dalkey island. So far i've just been getting rubbish little pollack and the odd codling. does anyone have any tips for the area? is it just me?

Hi, no expert but fished there for a while: If you drift through the channel of the mainland and the island there are usually alot of maks when they run. Off the south point of Dalkey Island you can pick up some reasonable codling (seen a couple of decent cod caught there too). The smaller island is usually infested with small whiting. Have caught a few decent pollock and gurnard just around the corner at Sorento on occasion and got some decent dabs there on rag. Quite a bit further out you can get Tope, however when it was a bit rough to head out actually got a couple of decent runs further down the coast (in line with the swimming baths)....didn't hang on though
